Riverway Sports Precinct is a world class multi-purpose sporting facility incorporating an AFL playing field, stadium building, function rooms, training facilities, various support facilities and car parking.
Ashburner's Role
Ashburner Francis designed the electrical infrastructure, internal electrical services, sports field and carpark lighting, mechanical services and lifts. Various design options were provided to obtain required sports lighting levels, air conditioning and ventilation systems.
Although the installed systems are primarily budget and time frame driven, high quality infrastructure and maximum flexibility is incorporated in the design. Energy efficiency is a high priority and is incorporated where appropriate and cost effective. Systems control and monitoring is provided by a sophisticated Building Management System.
